Groovy 60's Theme Party "Tune in, Turn on, Drop out"  The 1960s was a time social revolution.  The youth of the 50s were now in college.  They took their challenge to the establishment ( parents, government, school officials) to a degree never before seen then or since.  The young Adults marched on the nations capitol, protested the Vietnam war, held rallies at their Universities, walked for peace and civil rights.  The Young Adults had enough of the status quo.  This challenge resulted in revolutionary ways of thinking and real change in the cultural fabric of American life.  This affected education, values, lifestyles, laws, and entertainment.  The 60's revolutionary ideas are continuing today.  This was also a time to party hard.  Thousands Hippies (young adults that shrugged society, went naked, live on communes, and took psychedelic drugs.) converged on a new York town, Woodstock for a grand concert that went on for days. The music of the 60s is excellent for a Rock and Roll Theme Party with music like the Beatles, Jimmy Hendrix, and the Doors.  The fashion was far and unisex and the women burned their bras.  Everyone wore bell bottoms, natural and long coiffures, tie dye, beads, John Lennon glasses and tried to spread peace and understanding.
