Before you hold your own Texas hold’em party, be sure you prepare by purchasing all of your Poker Party Supplies. Texas hold’em has become popular as a result of the broadcasting of Celebrity Poker on television. Invite your friends to play like the stars at your own poker party. Have players RVSP so you know exactly how may players there will be. This is important as the number of tables you will need depends on the number of players. As this will be a friendly game, chips will be required. Be sure you have enough for everyone. About 50 chips per person will be satisfactory. Chips vary in quality and correspondingly price. For a friendly game, plastic poker chips will be more than sufficient. At least 2 decks of cards will be needed for each table. The final piece required for the game is the “dealer button”. You can purchase an actual “dealer button” or just provide a unique item to identify the dealer. Provide snack food for the game but nothing that will get the cards or table dirty. Side tables will also be required, as beverages and food are not permitted at a poker table. Ensure everyone playing knows the rules before starting the game. It is a good idea to have a couple of “practice” rounds so that everyone is on the same page. Then, let the games begin. A Texas hold’em party is great fun for all and playing for chips instead of money ensures that everyone goes home happy and with their wallets the same size as when they arrived.
